Creating threads
Create multi-post threads on X with lucette's thread builder.
Note: Threads are available on the Plus plan only. Upgrade to Plus to create threads.
What is a thread?
A thread is a series of connected posts published sequentially. Each post in a thread is numbered automatically (1/5, 2/5, etc.) so readers can follow along.
Creating a thread
Step 1: Start a thread
- In the composer, click "Create Thread"
- Type your first message
- Click "Add Message" to add more posts
Step 2: Add messages
- Click "Add Message" after each post
- Each message becomes a separate post in the thread
- Messages are numbered automatically (1/3, 2/3, 3/3, etc.)
Step 3: Edit messages
- Click any message to edit it
- Delete a message by clicking the delete icon
- Reorder messages by dragging them
Step 4: Schedule or post
- Post Now: Publishes the entire thread immediately
- Schedule Post: Pick a date and time for the thread
- Let it Flow: Automatically schedules at optimal times
Thread limits
Threads are a Plus plan feature. Plus users can create threads with up to 25 messages per thread.
How threads are published
When a thread is scheduled:
- All messages in the thread are scheduled
- Messages publish sequentially (one after another)
- lucette automatically adds numbering (1/3, 2/3, 3/3)
- Each message respects your minimum interval settings
Example: If you have a 3-message thread and a 1-hour minimum interval:
- Message 1 publishes at 2:00 PM
- Message 2 publishes at 3:00 PM
- Message 3 publishes at 4:00 PM
Adding media to threads
You can add images to any message in a thread:
- Click the message you want to add media to
- Click the image icon
- Upload your image(s)
- Images are attached to that specific message
Media limit: Up to 4 images per message (Plus plan).
Editing threads
You can edit scheduled threads:
- Find the thread in your Queue
- Click the edit icon
- Edit any message, add/remove messages, or change the schedule
- Click "Save"
Note: If the thread has already started publishing, you can only edit messages that haven't published yet.
Thread best practices
- Keep it focused: Each message should add value
- Use numbering: lucette adds this automatically, but you can reference it
- Plan length: Longer threads work better for Plus users (up to 25 messages)
- Space naturally: Let lucette handle intervals for better engagement
